# Animation library

Twenty two simulations, type pieces and illustrations on one WebGPU device and one loop. Each runs small in a card and opens to the full screen.

## What it is

The library began as the pieces kept from four bids for this portfolio, rebuilt on the GPU, and four new pieces made for it: a liquid by the material point method, light by radiance cascades, a murmuration on a spatial hash and ink by stable fluids.

One small host lends a single device to every stage, runs one frame for all of them, lowers the render scale when frames run long and only draws what is on screen.

## The parts

### Liquid

The material point method: the fluid is a cloud of particles, a grid solves its motion, and momentum moves between the two every step.

### Light

Radiance cascades: light gathered at a few scales and merged, so it reaches the corners without noise.

### Murmuration

Thousands of birds are sorted into a spatial hash, so each bird only looks at its nearest neighbors.

### Ink

Stable fluids with a multigrid solver, pigment composited on paper in light, emitted in dark.
